RIL & ONGC – Gateways to India’s Energy Independence

September 21, 2008

Mukesh Ambani

Mukesh Ambani

In the evolution of World’s History, the Supremacy of a Specific Nation is dependent on the factors like warring capacity, voyage, trade,  religion, politics, and Economy..it is the strength of an economic block that is formed from the collective countries of a Continent decides who is going to dictate terms to the World ..The strength of an economy of a particular country in the block is dependent on its ENERGY INDEPENDENCE & ENERGY EXPORT..In future, if at all peoples are at war, it is for the possession of ENERGY RESOURCES..As long as we are dependent on other countries for Energy and their investment in our country we are dependent and we can not treat ourselves truely SOVEREIGN.. Mukesh Ambani’s RIL is going to supply 40% of energy demand of the country, by rising 550,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) in 6-8 quaters in KG basin at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh which saves $20 billion Forex..RIL also pump $15million metric standard cubic meters of gas a day that adds to quality environment by providing clean and green energy..Reliance power 5 million cars, 10 million trucks and 50 million scooters and motorcycles..It lights up 80 million homes..We are finding new ways to meet energy demands, yet maintaining the quality of environment, apart of conventional energy resources…Let’s expect RIL and ONGC together bring Energy independence to this country, and are the gateways to make INDIA, Energy SUPER POWER. Let’s expect their journey into Non-Conventional Energy sector and finally own the technology and tap gama energy from exploding stars where each star can power the whole world for 5 years..YEAH! there are billions of stars in the galaxy

Energy Worries of the US

September 20, 2008

Let’s start with the largest oil producer of the non-OPEC countries – Russia. Long-term, Russia will continue to sell its huge oil and gas resources, filling its country’s coffers with hundreds of billions of dollars. Going forward, Russia will continue to flex its military muscle because Russia’s policymakers know that we won’t strongly protest as long as we can import their oil.

China will dance around the world investing in countries the U.S. deems unsavory and locking up their oil reserves for years to come. They’ll drill just a stone’s throw off our borders while we fight it out among ourselves.

Nuts like Chavez will nationalize their oil industries, and offer us a take it or leave it deal; stealing the billions of dollars of infrastructure development we’ve invested.

Meanwhile, OPEC is basically running the energy show for industrialized nations, or at least they did until recently. But still despite the recent skirmish between the Saudis and their counterparts at the meeting, OPEC will still meet and decide how much oil to produce…

I find it unfathomable that we’ve allowed these countries to decide the fate of the U.S economy.

If we’re going to change this, then we need to get on the ball. If I was in charge of our energy policy, I would be working towards an independent program. I would be convincing leaders to take another look at the untapped reserves we have a little closer to home…in the Gulf of Mexico, and off the east and west coasts.

However, sadly I just don’t see this happening anytime soon. We’re a little too complacent to change our old oil ways. But, looking to the future, as we continue to exhaust energy reserves around the world, we will usher in a whole new generation of cleaner, renewable alternative energy

NSG, the Nuclear Supplier Group of 45 member nations passed Indian Nuclear Pact lifting 34 year long ban on Nuclear trade with India, the objections of the Austria, Ireland and Newzealand are answered with a promise of no sharing of sensitive technology and no nuclear arm race…It opens doors for CLEAN AND GREEN ENERGY Campaign in India…Around 400 Indian and foreign companies are beneficiaries of the pact that India attracts around $40 billion dollars of foreign investment in India over the next 10-15 years and private sector enters into nuclear energy sector..Scores of nuclear plants will be constructed in India…we can produce spares to global nuclear plants, and around 400 firms get the chance to build nuclear power plants..Some believe modifications in 1962 Act, result in the production of 20,000 MWe nuclear energy by 2020..So far we are able to produce only 3,900 MWe in 60 years, that accounted only 2% of total energy supply…so SINGH IS KING, who won both Pact passed in Vienna, confidence motion passed in Parliament….The above image shows the FOUR Nuclear reactors of Tricastin enrichment Plant in France that produce 3000 MWe power, one of the biggest producers of Nuclear Energy..

2016 – UK – Zero Carbon Homes

Zero carbon homes are built for the future in the UK. By 2016, all new homes built are zero carbon homes, the green homes. The Government exempts Stamp duty and Land tax to encourage the building of these homes. Near zero carbon homes generate its own energy demand in environment friendly way…The key features are the design has maximum airtightness, high levels of insulation in roof and walls, its windows and doors have high thermal performance, draft lobby helps reduction of mass escape fo heat from the doors opened, it heats up maximum in winter sun, shades of northy cold winds, low energy demand lighting, energy efficiency washing machines and heaters are used, hot wiper pipes are insulted and have efficient design, an intelligent software is used to use appliances, efficient electric circuilt to use less energy to standby appliances, motion detection lighting and timer delay lighting is installed…Renewable energy sources are used like ground or air space heat pumps for hot water and space heating..biomass fulled hot water and space heating..small scale urban wind turbines..Photovoltaics for solar energy..biomass fuelled micro or community combined heat and power plants..small scale hydro electric..Kintetic battery to store unused energy system..unused energy is exported back to the NATIONAL GRID…GREAT KNOW

“Solana” Solar Farm of Spain lights 70,000 homes

August 12, 2008

Solana is a Spanish solar farm that is spanned in 1,900 miles area. The solar farm has 2,700 parabolic mirriors that track the sun and the energy produced heats the fluid to 700 Farenheit. The heat energy is converted into water steam that spins the turbines which can power 70,000 homes.

The sun drenched Mexico is going to become “Saudi Arabia of renewable Energy”, equalent to that Ghawar oil field. Located at 230 miles west of Albuquerque, it has 650 million dollar solar panels and the solar factory costing 950 million dollars. In 3,200 acres site, with 350 days of sun light can light 2,40,000 homes annually.

Solar Power Towers from Dept. of Energy, US

August 12, 2008

Solar power use thousands of solar panels called heliostats to reflect onto to the central receiver on the top of the power tower. Two towers are built by the Department of US Energy at the desert Barstow, CA. Solar one worked from 1982 1988, and upgraded and operated from 1996 to 1999 produced energy of 10 MW capacity.
